The highest vineyards in Europe

The region of Valle d'Aosta has an ancient history of winemaking, even though the steep mountain slopes and harsh, cold climate might suggest otherwise. Historically, however, wine production from the region was confined to individual backyard vineyards of usually no more than 2’500 square meters. In 1983, thanks in part to the efforts of the region's local government, the co-operative estate, Cave Mont Blanc de Morgex et de La Salle, was born.
This co-operative took control of its newly built winery, wellequipped with all the technology needed to produce high-quality wines. Cave Mont Blanc has the highest vineyards in Europe, at an altitude between 900 and 1200 meters above sea level, at the foot of Mont Blanc absolutely picturesque. Their mountains wines, both still and sparkling, are produced exclusively from a local varietal that was brought there by the Romans period Prié Blanc has been cultivated in their mountains for over 2000 years. The wines are fresh, mineral, crispy, of great personality, extremely elegant and pleasant to drink.
